Dear Neighbor,

My name is Athenea Allen, and I’m running for City Council in Albuquerque’s District 5—to deliver for our families, our safety, and our future.

As a national security professional, a mother, and the wife of Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen, I’ve dedicated my life to protecting people—keeping our community and our country safe.

I’ve conducted federal background investigations for agencies like the Department of Defense and Homeland Security, holding others to the highest standards of trust. That same responsibility drives me as a parent and as a partner to someone on the front lines of public safety.

Now I’m stepping forward to serve our neighborhoods—not for politics or power, but because our families deserve real results. I’ve raised my family on the Westside. I’ve seen what happens when traffic enforcement fades, when development outpaces infrastructure, and when leaders stop showing up.

That’s why I’m challenging Dan Lewis this November. I’m not a politician—I’m a public servant ready to deliver.
